About us
AHIH is EmoEx's health innovation incubator
Clinicians and researchers see problems up close, and often have a real sense of how AI could help. What they usually don't have is the technology or the means to build it.
AHIH provides both. Clinicians and researchers bring the idea and the expertise, and we provide the technology, the tools and the IEPCP platform to build and test it. Where a solution is commercialised through EmoEx, both sides share in what it earns.
In addition, each year we host the Forum, our flagship event on AI in mental health, bringing clinicians, researchers and policymakers together.
Our vision
We envision a future where AI-driven solutions are seamlessly integrated into healthcare systems, enhancing both physical and mental health care. This future is built on collaboration, transparency, and innovation, ensuring that the benefits of AI are accessible to all, particularly underserved communities.
Our mission
Our mission is to advance healthcare by helping clinicians and researchers develop safe, scalable and accessible AI solutions. We provide the technology, the tools and the platform to turn clinical expertise into innovations that improve patient care, ease the burden on healthcare providers, and support sustainable health systems.
Our Leadership Team
Our board and advisory include consultant-level medical and mental health specialists, working alongside a global research team of healthcare professionals to develop AI solutions for healthcare.

How it works
From idea to tested solution

1. Join the incubator
Bring us your idea. Clinicians and researchers join AHIH to develop an AI health solution, using EmoEx's technology and the IEPCP platform. You bring the clinical insight and the expertise, and we provide what it takes to build it.

2. Build and test on IEPCP
Develop and trial your solution in EmoEx's Innovation Environment for Psychological and Clinical Practices (IEPCP), a secure environment for real-world testing. This is where the idea becomes something you can evaluate.

3. Review and refine
Evaluate how the solution performs, and work with the incubator team to refine it against standards of safety, accuracy and impact.

4. Commercialise through EmoEx
Where a solution meets the standard, it is taken to market through EmoEx. You share in the return, through revenue share and in some cases a shareholding, agreed for each project.

5. Share what we learn
Findings from the work contribute to the wider understanding of AI in health, shared through AHIH's blog and newsletter.
Our values
Core Principles
Collaboration and Co-Creation
We build with the people closest to the problem. Clinicians and researchers bring the clinical insight, and we develop and test solutions with them.
Rigorous Testing and Validation
We trial solutions in real healthcare settings on the IEPCP platform, testing for safety, effectiveness and scalability before anything reaches people.
Learning and Shared Knowledge
We share what we learn through the Forum and our published findings, contributing to how the field understands AI in health.
Responsible by Design
We build responsibly, with transparency, data security and privacy built into how the incubator works.
Addressing Healthcare Disparities
We want AI to improve outcomes for underserved populations, and we keep that goal in view in the work we take on.

IEPCP
The EmoEx’s Innovation Environment for Psychological and Clinical Practices
IEPCP is EmoEx's Innovation Environment for Psychological and Clinical Practices, a secure testing ground where researchers, psychologists and clinicians build, trial and refine AI solutions for mental and physical health care. It supports safe real-world testing in clinical settings, so tools can be evaluated for effectiveness and safety before they reach people.
On IEPCP you build datasets from reviewed research and your own clinical experience, instruct and train the AI, test its responses, record where generative AI helps and where it falls short, and work with the EmoEx team to turn that into a solution.
Data Security, Privacy, IP and Commercialisation

01.
Data Security
We prioritise the protection of all data involved in our research and trials. We implement robust security measures, including encryption and access controls, to ensure that sensitive information is safeguarded against unauthorised access, breaches, or misuse.
02.
Privacy
We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of privacy for all participants. Personal and health data collected during our research are handled with strict confidentiality, adhering to all relevant privacy laws and regulations. We ensure that participants’ identities and information are protected at all times.
03.
Intellectual Property (IP)
The data you upload to IEPCP remains yours. It is used to build and test your solution, and nothing else. The solution we develop and test with you is built together, with ownership, rights and responsibilities set out in a clear agreement for each project.
04.
Commercialisation
Where a solution built in the incubator is taken to market through EmoEx, the clinician or researcher shares in the return, through revenue share and in some cases a shareholding, agreed for each project. A portion is reinvested into further research.
